"Insufficient information on website…"
Insufficient information on website should have warned me. Then no reply to the many calls I made. I would not recommend this airline at all.

"In January I booked and paid for…"
AMENDED REVIEW
In January I booked and paid for tickets from HKG to HAN in May. By March I was puzzled to see that the flight was no longer offered on their website, and flight trackers were showing it operating at a different time. I waited for them to notify me of the schedule change. They never did. Eventually I emailed them. Only then did they tell me that the flight would not be operating on the day I had booked at all, and that we would now travel the following day. This is unacceptable to me, as we shall miss the start of the tour we have booked.

I emailed their customer support and their HKG office. I also spoke to them on the phone. They were apologetic and immediately offered a refund. They were unable to transfer my booking to another airline. The failure to contact me promptly was rather poor, and has cost me 250 GBP, because fares have gone up. But their responsiveness once I contacted them has been good - better than I would have expected from some of the reviews here. I have increased my star rating.

"“Great flight with Vietnam Airlines!”"
The flight from Ho chi minh to Tuy Hoa was very comfortable. Costumer service are very good and was helpful with the baggage information before departure. Much baggage included with the air ticket. Great crew onboard as well, will recommend to fly with Vietnam Airlines.

"Worst airline"
Within a couple of weeks of booking from Vietnam to Germany they started changing the flight times via multiple emails. No new schedule was provided and one of the changes left me no time to change planes in Hanoi.

Then no help from their appalling customer service.

"London to Australia via Vietnam"
We travelled to Australia from the UK via Vietnam airlines Business Class. We have used many other airlines including Emirates Etihad etc. Vietnam have improved their offerings providing in general top quality food and drinks. The service on all flights was excellent but the food provided on the London -Ho Chi Minh leg was outstanding by any standards. Other flights were almost as good -for example their Champagne offering is very good indeed! The seats are fairly good on both the B787s and A350s.I have the impression that they have definately upped their game here recently and it shows. They noiw represnet a good quality Busienss Class service at ( by class standrads) a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

"Cancelled and delayed flights all round…"
We recently spent 2 weeks in Vietnam and during that time not one of our three internal or international flights departed or arrived on time. we had several cancelled flights and our return flight home to Australia was delayed by 3 hours but no one informed us until we were at the gate and thinking we were boarding on time. Pretty disappointing all round.

"Probably the better one compared to…"
Probably the better one compared to other Vietnamese airlines. Good and relatively new planes and check-in luggage is most of the time included in the price, however, if you need to change your ticket or get a refund it is nearly impossible, and headaches are guaranteed. Good airline but really lacks customer service.

"Bad customer experience"
After buying tickets for a certain date I immediately realized that the date was wrong. Maybe my mistake, of course. But I immediately wrote to the company that, without any scruples, changed my tickets applying penalties. No sensitivity towards the customer, they have decided to lose a future customer.

"Do not fly with them"
Do not fly with them. Appalling customer service. Paid for baggage online, we had receipts to prove we paid but they made us pay again at the airport.

"Customer service an alien idea to Vietnam Airlines?"
As airlines go these days this is not a bad one. However they still have a lot to learn about customer service and if something is a little out of the ordinary then they get confused easily.
They are part of “SkyTeam” but don’t follow their rules for check in or boarding.
Check in at Siem Reip Cambodia was a most unpleasant experience for us as they ignored the the premium customer check in line, which resulted in a heated argument about the purpose of the premium line. No doubt the very fact one exists confuses these communist comrades.
If you are going to be part of “SkyTeam” and reap the benefits of association with a large international group of airlines, then follow the agreed rules!!!
The short flight was reasonably comfortable other than the flight attendant ramming my knee with the drinks cart!

"The app is awful"
The app is awful. Booked flights KL/HCM/PHU QUOC, manage my booking won't let me upgrade to business even though airline sent email invitation. Another of Asia's growing list of airlines who need to get their IT department sorted.

Even their messenger is a bot. They made a ticketing mistake and can only tell me what they serve to eat on the aircraft.

"Consistently good service in nearly all respects."
Five flights Nov/Dec 2022 with Vietnam Airlines over a three week period; UK to Vietnam & return and three vietnamese domestic flights. Performance was consistently very good throughout. Easy booking via their website with seat selection available straightaway. However a minor change to schedule to avoid dangerous airspace necessitated an expensive international call to Vietnam to confirm. Premium Economy gives fast track check in at airport, all good, professional & polite. All flights left reasonably promptly, with two bang on time. Premium Economy seat comfort excellent as were the cabin crew, who were efficient, visible, friendly and attentive for the whole journey. Entertainment selection limited and headphones useless; bring your own and Spotify downloads or a book. Food decent and plentiful. Overall a very good experience with strong focus on customer service & care. Crew were outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this airline.

"Terrible customer service"
Terrible customer service
They changed my Sydney - Hanoi flight from Sat 26th Nov to Mon 28th Nov, without realising that I'm flying Christchurch - Sydney on 26th. This means I might be stuck in Sydney for 2 nights and yet when I called to query about it, they weren't very helpful and wanted me to get a refund and rebook the flights which means I would have to get the price that's doubled or tripled to the time I firstly booked. Very bad service.

"Poor customer service (SYDNEY) office."
Haven’t flown with Vietnam Airlines so this review is not based on a flight but on their POOR customer service in Sydney office. I’ve been trying to contact them all day today via phone (Vietnam Airline Office, Lotus, and admin office) and email. Their phone lines were off or down this morning, throughout the afternoon it must have rang for over half an hour each time and they kept putting me back on hold. All I need are some answers to enquires not listed anywhere on your booking website so I can book domestic flights!

Sydney, you need to improve your customer service and not make it so difficult!
